The C-ITS City Pool
Since 2015 the C-ITS City Pool is the central meeting point for public authorities involved in the deployment of C-ITS services at local, regional or national level, allowing participants to share their knowledge and experience with each other and supporting the uptake and market rollout of C-ITS services. With widespread implementation as the main goal, the C-ITS City Pool serves as a one-stop-shop for cities and road authorities to receive training, acquire knowledge, make connections and identify requirements, hurdles and best practices for on-road deployment. Participation is open to public authorities, road operators, traffic managers and all interested parties.
Launched as part of the CIMEC and CODECS projects, the C-ITS City Pool is a grouping of local authorities with an interest in the development of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems in cities and regions. Members work together to promote discussion on C-ITS issues in an urban context and provide input on city needs, urban use cases, and challenges and enablers in C-ITS deployment.
The CIMEC and CODECS projects have acted as a central meeting point for transport authorities involved in the deployment of cooperative intelligent transport systems in Europe, ensuring successful coordination during the initial roll-out and subsequent implementation phases. Their stakeholder network allows a transparent exchange of information and lessons learnt during initial deployments, in technologies, specifications and functions. The C-ITS City Pool held its last workshop under the aegis of CODECS in March 2018, and has since been transferred to the C-MobILE project.
The C-ITS City Pool organises regular workshops, meetings and training sessions. To be kept informed of upcoming events, sign up for updates at c-mobile-project.eu/contacts or follow the project on Twitter.
